Building Energy Performance – an extension to the Autodesk Revit software, created for the architects and engineers, who wants to design energy efficient buildings. Add-on calculates building energy performance and generates report about heat loss through all building seals and heat bridges.

While designing new building or separate parts of it, even if preparing a project of renovation, using this extension designer can evaluate and calculate:
|
|||
-
Heat los though building construction (walls, slabs, roof, doors, windows, heat bridges and etc.);
-
Establish energy efficiency class of building’s or part of it. There are 7 efficiency classes: A, B, C, D, E, F, G. Class A is highest and it indicates very energy efficient building;
-
Calculate the heat loss cost and the investments cost of building which is being designed or renovated. This functionality allows to establish the return of different materials. User can get answer to question: how much heat and money I’ll save if I’ll use better but more expensive materials;
-
In detailed performance report user can determine where the biggest heat loss is and which elements of building are most expensive;
-
Establish building heating and ventilation systems by used heating point, regulators and ventilation type. The calculation also includes a cost of hot water preparation;
- This extension comes with Revit objects library (walls, roofs, slabs, materials and etc.) and template based on Technical Regulation of Construction and ISO standards.
All calculations for building energy performance analysis are based on:
-
prEN 15217:2005 „Energy performance of buildings. Methods for expressing energy performance and for energy certification of buildings“;
-
prEN 15203:2005 „Energy performance of buildings. Assessment of energy use and definition of ratings“;
It determines that all building seals: walls, roof, slabs, windows, doors and heat bridges generate heat loss. All of them have its overall heat transfer coefficient U (W/m2 x K).
For doors and windows U parameter is defined by manufacturer or by construction type. Wall, slab and roof have its own structure (finish, insulation, and core). Every layer (material) has its heat conductivity coefficient. Program automatically identifies all layers, gets its materials with corresponding heat conductivity coefficient and calculates overall U heat transfer coefficient parameter of wall.
Using our template You do not need to care specifications, printing sheets or symbol preparation. All time could be dedicated just for the designing and in any phase you can overview printing sheets, because all views and specifications generates automatically. There are already prepared different printing sheets (A4 – A0), with parametric stamp.
Those, who has Autodest Revit® program, can try “Building energy performance” 30 days demo version for free.
Attention. This add-on works only on Revit 2010 and later program versions with installed update. Updates of all Revit family programs can be accessed and downloaded from Autodesk site.
Revit Building energy performance extensions differences between full and demo versions:
-
Demo version can be used for free for a 30 days;
-
With full program version comes template with walls, roofs, slabs and floors types library, defined by thermal insulation manufactures;
-
In demo version there is only one type of slab, wall and roof, and materials used in those types. It is completely enough to try extension. To use full library must get full version;
-
In template coming with full extension version you will find library with IZOVER, PAROC, ROCKWOOL, STYROFOAM thermal and acoustic insulation materials. Therefore most common building materials are included. Each of them has its own price of square meter and heat transfer coefficient included;
-
Printing sheets formats (A0-A4) and various different annotation symbols for all types of elements can be found in template.
